Jewel was a rescue dog and I adopted her over 7 years ago. She developed breast and skin cancer and was on medications and endured over 7 surgeries. She was 11years and 7 months old and I just put her to sleep as she slowly deteriorated and couldn't take her medicines any more. She bonded with my other dog Curley an Australian Shepherd who was a stray and came to us because he bonded with her too. He was always protective of her to the very end of her life. We my husband and I said our good byes to her and with her eyes she told me that Curley will now take care of us. She was a remarkable dog and she will forever stay in our hearts. I love you Jewel.
