Animal Dermatology Clinic Services

There are hundreds of different skin diseases currently recognized in the dog and cat. Many of these diseases look very much alike, with only subtle differences in clinical picture and historical backgrounds. Our dermatologists are trained to focus on these differences and pursue a direct and cost effective diagnostic work-up.

We specialize in diagnosing and treating:
  • Chronic and severe skin and ear disease
  • Immune mediated and hormonal skin disease
  • Nail and nail bed diseases
  • Skin manifestations of internal disease
Our practice utilizes the latest in available technology and offers services including:
  • Intradermal allergy testing and hyposensitization therapy
  • Video otoscopy
  • In-house biopsy services
  • C02 laser surgery
  • Equine dermatology
As specialists, we stay current on new research and treatments, and are often actively involved with the research. Our dermatology practice is not limited to small animals and we often have equine and occasionally exotic patients.

The majority of our doctors are Diplomates.  A Diplomate is a licensed veterinarian who has completed an additional two-to-three years of a residency under an approved program as mandated by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology.  A veterinarian who successfully meets the requirements and completes an approved residency program and then meets the credentialing requirements of the ACVD can then sit for the qualifying examination for the College.  Once that examination is successfully passed, the candidate becomes a Diplomate.

An Associate is a licensed veterinarian who has successfully completed the residency program requirements and has yet to sit for the examination.

A Resident is a licensed veterinarian who is working towards the completion of their residency program.
