Animal Dermatology Specialty Clinic, Inc. Announces Today Dr. John Angus, DVM, Dip ACVD Voted Small Animal Speaker of the Year at the 2008 North American Veterinary Conference.

June 16, 2008 – MARINA DEL REY, CA – Animal Dermatology Specialty Clinic, Inc. announces today Dr. John Angus DVM was voted “Small Animal Speaker of the Year” at the 2008 North American Veterinary Conference (NAVC). With attendence of the NAVC exceeding 16,000 in 2008, the registrants for the conference chose Dr. Angus over several other speakers. The award with be presented on the evening of Saturday, January 17, 2009 immeidately preceeding the Opening Ceremony of the NAVC Conference.

“I am honored to have been voted Small Animal Speaker of the Year by a group of my peers.

Dr. Angus graduated from University of California Davis in 1994. After obtaining his degree in Veterinary Medicine, he worked in a private small animal and emergency practice for five years. Dr. Angus completed his residency in dermatology at the University of Illinois and became a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 2003. He remained at the University as a visiting clinical professor until 2004, where he received recognition as a teacher of excellence. Dr. Angus joined Animal Dermatology Clinic in 2007 and sees patients in Pasadena, CA.

Dr. Angus has written extensively for journals, veterinary textbooks, and is frequently invited to speak at national and international conferences. Currently Dr. Angus serves as a member of the ACVD Education Committee and is on the editorial boards for the Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association and Veterinary Dermatology, the official journal of the European Society of Veterinary Dermatology.

The North American Veterinary Conference is the non-profit organization that produces, organizes, and delievers premier continuing education programs for the entire veterinary healthcare team. Founded in 1984, the NAVC Conference, held every January in Orlando, Florida has grown to accommodate more that 16,000 attendees from over 60 countries and every realm of the veterinary healthcare profession. The NAVC Conference provides more than 50 hands-on wet laboratories , 300 speakers, a dozen daily lecture tracks, more than 550 exhibitors, and nightly entertainment.
